As announced in the call for project proposals, we are going to hold a preparatory workshop in September. Its purpose is to provide a platform for presenting and discussing concrete plans for project proposals. This might help to answer questions such as “Does my project fit into the scope of the program?“, “Did someone else have the same idea?“, or “Is there an overlap to other proposals that I could avoid by a slight shift of focus?“.
There is going to be an online meeting on September 21st, 10am (details follow), but the main work will be done in advance: We ask you to produce a short video (mp4 format, 2-10 minutes, ideally 6) with a slide presentation and an audio track that explains the topic of the intended project proposal. All videos will be provided online together with the contact information of the authors. Access to the platform will be restricted by password protection to persons who submitted a video. People who work on similar topics can thus contact each other directly. The live meeting will be short: A presentation on the priority program’s topic and structure by the initiators followed by an open discussion round. Finally, a virtual space for chatting in smaller groups will be provided.
Update: Please submit videos early (from now on). The video platform is ready. There will be an overlap of the video submission phase and the project coordination phase on 15/09. On this day the access data will be sent to participants while the last videos are being uploaded.
